Sunday, April 7th, marks the 31st annual USC MPW “Writing for Stage and Screen” Festival. The evening will showcase readings of exciting new short plays by student competition winners, who will have the opportunity to work with professional directors, dramaturgs, and actors from the film and TV industries. The winning scripts were selected by Julia Cho (playwright: BFE, Durango, The Language Archive; TV writer: Big Love, Fringe). The event begins at 7:00pm at the Electric Lodge Theater, located at 1416 Electric Ave. Venice, CA 90291. The festival and following reception is free and open to the public. If interested, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Here is a short excerpt from the official Facebook event page:
“The MPW Writing for Stage and Screen Festival showcases outstanding work by MPW students by presenting staged readings of three short scripts—the winners of the annual MPW Writing for Stage and Screen Competition. The three winning writers collaborate with professional directors, actors, and dramaturgs from the theatre and film/TV industries to bring their scripts to life in front of an audience.”
